According to 90min, Arsenal rate Donny van de Beek highly and would like to sign him, although he could be heading to Newcastle.

What’s the story?

Well, the £34.6m man has endured a miserable time in the Premier League with Manchester United since his 2020 arrival from Ajax.

The 24-year-old has played just 68 minutes of Premier League football this season, after being given only four Premier League starts last term.

A very strange way to treat your multi-million pound signing, to say the least.

Nevertheless, Arsenal have not been put off, and are said to admire the Netherlands international.

However, 90min believe a deal is currently unlikely, as the Gunners are competing for a place in next season’s Champions League with the Red Devils.

Earlier today, Ralf Rangnick revealed that he has advised Van de Beek to stay at Old Trafford, despite his lack of game time.

In truth, we’re not quite sure why the former Ajax maestro would listen to that advice, given how he’s been treated.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Van de Beek has actually been offered to Newcastle, who are looking to spend their newfound riches.

Then, the Chronicle claimed that the Manchester United No.34 is high on Eddie Howe’s list of targets at St James’ Park.

Therefore, if the Chronicle and the Manchester Evening News are to be trusted, a deal could easily happen this month.

The Red Devils would presumably hope to make their money back, which shouldn’t be an issue for Newcastle, who have just spent £25m on the 30-year-old Chris Wood.

Keep an eye on this interesting saga – a player of Van de Beek’s quality is far too good to rot away on the sidelines.
