Arsenal central defender Rob Holding has sent a one-word message to his teammate Granit Xhaka on Instagram following his dismissal against Liverpool at Anfield.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal played out a goalless draw with Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final tie on Thursday evening.
Switzerland international midfielder Xhaka was dismissed after just 24 minutes.
Xhaka was shown a straight red card for catching Diogo Jota with a high challenge on the edge of his penalty area as he attempted to cut out Andrew Robertson’s pass.
The Arsenal midfielder has issued an apology on Instagram, and his teammates Holding and Alexandre Lacazette have responded to his message.

Encouraging
In our view, it is very encouraging to see Holding and Lacazette support their Arsenal teammate Xhaka, and do so publicly.
The Switzerland international midfielder is understandably disappointed with his actions.

Xhaka could have cost Arsenal the match and the tie.
In the end, Arteta’s side played brilliantly, especially at the back, and, in our view, they deservedly drew the game.
Holding and Lacazette publicly supporting Xhaka shows how well liked and popular the midfielder is in the Arsenal dressing room.
