Father Brown has always livened up our dark winter days with its bright and breezy murder mysteries and in 2022, the much-loved series celebrates something special.
In season 9, Father Brown will celebrate its 100th episode with the landmark occasion coinciding with the 10th and final episode of the series.

Father Brown season 9 episode 10 release date and plot
The 10th and final episode of Father Brown series 9 arrives on BBC One and iPlayer at 1:45pm on Friday, January 14th, 2022.
Titled The Red Death, the episode sees Lady Felicia hold her lavish annual New Year ball to welcome in 1954.
However, the grand occasion is ruined when a VIP guest is murdered by a masked figure and the estate is thrown into lockdown.

Guest star spotlight
Alexander Hanson as Lord ‘Monty’ Montague
First up in our cast rundown is Alexander Hanson who takes on the role of Lord Montague.
The Nottinghamshire-born actor will be a familiar face to many as he boasts almost 40 acting roles to his name including appearances in the murder mysteries Midsomer Murders, Endeavour, Inspector Lewis as well as Killing Eve, The Fugitives and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
Nicholas Audsley as Robert Earl of Finchmore
Nicholas Audsley is but a rookie in comparison to Alexander Hanson with just 12 acting roles to his name at the time of writing.
However, the actor has appeared in some big-name productions including ITV’s Victoria, the Jodie Comer-starring series The White Princess as well as Midsomer Murders and Silent Witness.
Gemma Page as Lady Agnes Hakeworth
Father Brown also welcomes Gemma Page to the cast of episode 10 as she takes on the role of Lady Agnes Hakeworth.
The actress made her on-screen debut in 1993’s Head Over Heels but has also appeared in the likes of Doctors, The Durrells and the acclaimed Peaky Blinders in recent years.
Richard Dillane as Sir Charles Hakeworth
With more than 80 roles to his name, Richard Dillane (brother of Game of Thrones’ Stephen Dillane) will be a familiar face to make as he plays Sir Charles Hakeworth.
His acting debut came back in 1995 and he has since appeared in the likes of Netflix’s Young Wallander, The Last Kingdom, The White Princess as well as Call the Midwife, Channel 5’s Dalgliesh and Casualty.
Cam Spence as Ruth Moulton
With just four previous acting roles to her name, Cam Spence comes into episode 10 as the least-experienced guest star.
She made her debut in 2016’s Resting and has since appeared in Drifters, Black Death and The Emily Atack Show.
Caleb Frederick as Dr Elliot Muthomi
And finally, we come to Caleb Frederick who plays Dr Elliot Muthomi.
The actor also made his debut recently, in the 2011 film Bashment, and has since appeared in The Long Song, Counterpart, Into the Badlands and the 2020 series of Death in Paradise.
