God of War arrives on Steam and the Epic Games store but its Ragnarok sequel will not be on PC for day one of its PS5 release date.

Sony’s sequel is currently in-development and is pegged to come out sometime in 2022. Fans have been anticipating it ever since the announcement at Sony State of Play and there’s plenty to look forward to such as a sledge and a very angry Freya.

While it will come out this year on PlayStation, the unfortunate news is that it will not arrive on computers.

Will God of War Ragnarok be on PC?

God of War Ragnarok will not be on PC from day one of its release date as it is only announced as ‘coming to PlayStation consoles’ in the reveal trailer.

However, although it won’t arrive on computers at the same time as PS5, it could land on Steam and the Epic Games store afterward. No port has been announced or confirmed, but evidence has seemingly surfaced.

Jetpack Interactive is a studio that has worked on the PC port of God of War (2018), and tool and systems programmer, Warren Lee, had Ragnarok listed as part of his projects on LinkedIn (via Gamerant). This doesn’t confirm that a port is in the works, but it’s a possible clue.

Although no port is announced, it’s possible that the sequel will land on computers in the future. Sony has released exclusives on computers years after their PlayStation launch such as Days Gone, Detroit Become Human, and Horizon Forbidden West. Uncharted 4 is also arriving on January 28th, 2022.

When is the God of War Ragnarok release date?

There is no official release date for God of War Ragnarok other than 2022 but rumours suggest it may launch on September 30th.

This rumour comes courtesy of a PlayStation database leak from back in December 2021. It’s by no means official as it could simply be a placeholder.

Although unconfirmed, it doesn’t seem implausible as the game was originally planned for 2021.

State of Play

There are rumours that a State of Play is scheduled for February 2022.

This comes courtesy of renowned Battlefield leaker, Tom Henderson. However, they claim that another State of Play will occur at the end of March and that this is the one that will focus on God of War Ragnarok plus other latter half 2022 games.

Again, this also isn’t official, but it’s perhaps when a concrete release date will be announced.
