Transfer news is starting to heat up for Arsenal.
On Wednesday it was reported around Europe that Arsenal would be signing Arthur Melo of Juventus on a half-season loan arrangement initially.
And this morning, Goal reported that the Gunners were interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
In fact, the North Londoners have reportedly even held talks with the player’s representatives regarding a transfer to the Emirates Stadium.
The Belgium international has proven himself as Premier League quality and thensome since joining the Foxes back in 2019.
He is also a hugely-popular figure among the King Power Stadium faithful and here’s how some City supporters reacted on Twitter to the idea of him signing for Arsenal.
Is Tielemans joining Arsenal?
Probably not in January anyway, no. Or in general.
Arsenal rarely sanction big-money permanent transfers during the winter window and considering Tielmans would certainly cost big money, this one doesn’t make a great deal of sense.
The Arthur speculation seems a lot more credible and if the Gunners sign him during the summer, after taking him on loan this month, then that makes the Tielemans speculation even less likely to materialise.
The Belgian and Arthur aren’t all that different midfielders and therefore, it’ll more than likely be one or the other – and with Arthur that bit more credible, Leicester supporters have nothing to worry about.
Well, nothing to worry about regarding Arsenal, but Liverpool also need midfielders this month and beyond and with Tielemans linked with Anfield in the past, that rumour could rear its ugly head once again.
