Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been chatting about Newcastle United signing Chris Wood and how Sean Dyche must be feeling now.

The New Zealander has joined the Magpies in a £25m move, swapping one relegation rival for another in the process.

Newcastle have landed a proven Premier League striker, while they’ve pinched one of their rivals’ best players.

Seaman believes that while Newcastle have completed some clever business, Sean Dyche will be fuming with the move.

What’s Seaman said about Wood and Dyche?

The pundit was discussing Wood’s move to Newcastle on his podcast.

“Is it actually clever business from Newcastle to strip the assets of the teams around them?” Seaman’s co-host asked.

“Exactly, they’re going to sign Nick Pope next! I bet Sean Dyche is fuming if he’s got no control over that, he must be going berserk,” Seaman said.

Infuriating

Wood joining Newcastle must be absolutely infuriating for Dyche.

It’s never nice to lose your starting striker at any point in time, but this is a real kick in the teeth.

Newcastle are breathing down Burnley’s necks in the league, and they’ve just snatched one of their most important players.

This transfer could single-handedly save Newcastle and condemn Burnley to relegation, but, of course, there’s still a lot of football to be played.

Burnley also have £25m more in the bank after this sale, so if they can spend that wisely, it may not be long before Wood is old news at Turf Moor.
