According to RMC Sport, Tottenham have joined West Ham and Newcastle in the race to sign Stade Reims wonderkid Hugo Ekitike.
What’s the story?
Well, the 19-year-old has quickly become the star of this January transfer window, with a number of Premier League clubs taking an interest.
RMC Sport believe Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle have all positioned themselves to make a move for Ekitike, but no bids have been submitted yet.
Stade Reims would like to keep their teenage sensation, although they would sell him this month for €30m (£25m).
However, any deal struck this winter would have to involve a loan back to Stade Reims for the remainder of this season, so those interested would seemingly have no chance of luring him away immediately.
Interest in Ekitike comes after the Frenchman scored eight goals in his first 17 Ligue 1 outings this season, while also providing three assists.
What could Hugo Ekitike bring to Tottenham, West Ham or Newcastle?

In our view, people shouldn’t expect the youngster to deliver straight away, as he is still an infant in the senior game.
However, the Premier League trio should do their upmost to sign Ekitike, as he is a forward of serious promise.
The wonderkid has already been likened to Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, who also burst onto the scene as a youngster in Ligue 1.

After all, if you could go back in time and sign Mbappe for £25m before he hit the big time, you wouldn’t think twice about it.
Having said that, this situation suits Tottenham and West Ham more than it does for Newcastle, who need instant impacts from their new recruits.
