According to Diario de Cádiz, it’s likely that Diego Martinez will manage in the Premier League next season with Leeds.
What’s the story?
Well, talk of Martinez replacing Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds is gathering pace as the Argentine’s contract enters its final six months.
Bielsa tends to only commit himself to one-year deals, meaning his current terms at Elland Road will expire in June.
As a result, the 66-year-old’s future is always open to speculation.
In the meantime, Diario de Cádiz inform us that Martinez has been living in England since leaving Granada in May 2021, upon the expiration of his contract.
The 41-year-old is said to be a huge fan of English football, and can often be seen at Premier League stadiums.
Getafe and Levante have tried to hire Martinez, but he refuses to leave England.
As a result, Diario de Cádiz believe everything indicates he will manage in the Premier League next season, most likely with Leeds.
Diego Martinez to Leeds seems very likely

This isn’t the only talk regarding Martinez to Leeds.
According to La Razon, the Spaniard has already been endorsed by Victor Orta, Director of Football at Elland Road.
Elsewhere, it was Super Deporte who claimed that Orta has already held talks with Martinez about the prospect of replacing Bielsa.

By the sounds of things, Leeds admire Martinez, and he also admires English football, so there should be a willingness from both sides to get a deal done.
If Bielsa decides not to pen another one-year contract this summer, don’t be surprised to see Orta move swiftly to hire Martinez.
