Nantes have received and rejected a €9m (£7.5m) offer from Bundesliga side Freiburg for reported Liverpool target Randal Kolo Muani.
According to RCM Sport, the Ligue 1 side have shot down an approach from the German side for the 23-year-old attacker, with Freiburg currently sitting 4th in the German top-flight after a remarkable first half of the season.
Kolo Muani has been linked to both the Bundesliga and Premier League, with Liverpool being reported as a suitor for the Paris-born attacker as reported by Bild, with Foot Mercato also claiming that Tottenham are tracking the striker.
Born in the same suburb of Paris as PSG star Kylian Mbappe, Kolo Muani has enjoyed an explosive season with Nantes, with the attacker scoring seven goals and assisting three in Ligue 1.
Indeed, with his contract set to expire this summer, Kolo Muani could leave the French club this window if Nantes a suitable fee for the attacker. Yet with Freiburg having a £7.5m offer shot down for the forward, the battle could be much harder than first thought.
Liverpool could do with an attacker this window. After all, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are away at the Africa Cup of Nations until mid-February at the latest. And Kolo Muani could be a solid option to fill the void.
Success with forwards should push Liverpool to sign Kolo Muani

Liverpool have always had a decent success rate when it comes to strikers under Jurgen Klopp. From Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino, Kolo Muani could easily be the next name to flourish at Anfield from the front.
At just 23, the attacker is younger than when Jota joined Liverpool in 2020. And Kolo Muani could be a cheap addition to the club for the remainder of the season and beyond, with Divock Origi set to leave in the summer.
