Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told the Gunners to get a new deal with Alexandre Lacazette sorted, according to TEAMtalk.

The report has claimed that Arsenal are now ready to offer Lacazette a new two-year contract and extend his stay beyond the end of the season.

The France international has done well in recent weeks, and Arsenal manager Arteta has encouraged the club’s hierarchy to open fresh talks and convince him to stay.

Arsenal were previously willing to hand the 2017 £46.5 million signing from Lyon (BBC Sport) a one-year extension, but now they have changed their plan, according to TEAMtalk.

What should Alexandre Lacazette do about Arsenal?

In our view, Lacazette should not rush into putting pen to paper on a new contract with Arsenal.

The 30-year-old will become a free agent in a matter of months.

Lacazette should just wait until the end of the season to make a decision on his future.

In our opinion, Lacazette could find a number of clubs interested in him in the summer of 2022.

Now, of course, Arsenal are a big club, but Lacazette does not always play regularly for the Gunners.

There are talks of the Gunners signing Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina.

If the Serbia international striker moves to Arsenal, then Lacazette will play second fiddle to him.
