Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers are now facing competition from Blackburn Rovers for Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, according to The Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail have reported that Blackburn are trying to sign winger Summerville on loan from Leeds in the January transfer window.
This is bad news for Rangers.
That’s because the defending Scottish Premiership champions are also interested in the 20-year-old winger, who cost Leeds £1.3 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Feyenoord in the summer of 2020 (The Sun).
Rangers or Blackburn for Crysencio Summerville?
In our view, Leeds winger Summerville should look at a Rangers loan deal rather than a move to Blackburn until the end of the season.
Rangers are a massive club who are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title for the second season in a row.
Moreover, the Gers are still in the Europa League.
Now, Blackburn are aiming to win automatic promotion to the Premier League.
So, at Rovers, the Leeds winger will have a very competitive environment as well.
But the experience of playing in front of potential 50,000 fans at Rangers (rules permitting, of course) could help Summerville grow and develop.
