According to The Telegraph, Newcastle have made an enquiry to Norwich over the signing of Todd Cantwell, who is also wanted by Leeds.
What’s the story?
Well, there is plenty of Premier League interest in Cantwell.
The Express believe Aston Villa are also monitoring the 23-year-old, although it’s Newcastle who have made the first move.
The Telegraph state that Norwich value Cantwell at £15m – £20m, as he’s informed the Canaries that he won’t be signing a contract extension.
As things stand, the England Under-21 international – who has scored six Premier League goals – has 18 months remaining on his current deal.

Norwich feel they are more likely to receive their asking price now, compared to in the summer when they are likely to find themselves back in the Championship.
The Telegraph add that Newcastle are now deciding whether to submit a bid, after Norwich responded to their enquiry with an asking price.
Newcastle face competition from Leeds
In our view, Newcastle must be wary of Leeds.
Of course, the Magpies have the financial muscle to shove the Whites out of the equation, thanks to Amanda Staveley and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF).

However, Cantwell has already called Leeds a “fantastic” side, and was the subject of intense interest from Marcelo Bielsa’s side in both 2020 and 2021.
Victor Orta – Director of Football at Leeds – even confirmed to talkSPORT that he was trying to sign the attacking midfielder.
Therefore, Cantwell may be more inclined to move to Yorkshire over Tyneside, as Leeds have surely made him feel wanted.
