It may not be a busy transfer window for Liverpool regarding incomings, with Jurgen Klopp unlikely to be spending millions upon millions this winter.
But Liverpool are sure to have a hectic January with regards to departures from Anfield.
One player linked with a transfer away from Merseyside is Nathaniel Phillips.
Phillips is the subject of speculation amid interest from Newcastle United and West Ham United, with Michael Edwards slapping a £15 million asking price on the towering defender.
And it looks like the 24-year-old could potentially end up leaving the European giants.
According to The Athletic, the Bolton-born stalwart is willing to quit Liverpool in January for the sake of regular football.
The Liverpool manager labelled him ‘absolutely insane‘ for his performance against Manchester United at the backend of last season.
However, this time around, Phillips has only managed a solitary start across all competitions.
That came in a Champions League victory away to AC Milan, with Edwards using that ‘outstanding‘ performance to justify the £15 million valuation.
Logical?
Wanting to leave Liverpool makes perfect sense, yes.
Reason being, Phillips is pushed massively down the pecking order on Merseyside and playing regularly is simply not happening.
Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are comfortably ahead of the Englishman and therefore, a departure is the intelligent decision here.
