Jamie O’Hara has singled out Davinson Sanchez for criticism following his performance for Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.
The Lilywhites suffered a 2-0 defeat by Chelsea in the opening leg of a Carabao Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge.
Agreed, Chelsea won a Champions League in 2021 and are therefore one of the continent’s best outfits.
However, even still, Tottenham looked a shadow of themselves under Italian manager Antonio Conte.
Aside from perhaps Oliver Skipp, nobody in the visiting dressing room really played all that well – and former Spurs midfielder O’Hara feels that the Colombia international didn’t.
Sanchez was a touch unfortunate with Kai Havertz’s early opener the South American was also caught out of position quite a lot.
Here’s what O’Hara tweeted:
Harsh?
Well, potentially.
Actually, the former Ajax stalwart did relatively well to shackle Romelu Lukaku for the most part and, according to WhoScored, Sanchez passed better than any other Tottenham player.
He posted a passing success rate of almost 94 percent, as well as producing three clearances and two interceptions.
Sanchez, who scored a last-minute winner for the Lilywhites last weekend, is often the villain through slapstick defending, but he was okay in West London.
