Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United, Everton and Leicester City are interested in signing Alfredo Morelos from Rangers in the January transfer window, according to CBS Sports.

The report has claimed that Newcastle, Everton and Leicester all are considering making a $27 million (£20.05m) bid for Rangers star Morelos this month.

Could Newcastle sign Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos?

In our view, it is going to be extremely tough for Newcastle to sign Morelos from Rangers in the January transfer window.

Yes, even for $27 million (£20.05m).

For Rangers, $27 million (£20.05m) is a lot of money, and they are likely to at least consider that potential offer.

However, we do not think that the defending Scottish champions will sell the 25-year-old striker – described as “fantastic” by Rangers legend Ally McCoist in talkSPORT in October 2020 – in the middle of the season.

After all, Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst will not want to lose as important a player as Morelos in the middle of the season.

The Gers are aiming to win the league title for the second season in a row and are also still in Europe.

Morelos has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 18 Scottish Premiership matches for Rangers so far this season.

The Rangers no. 20 has scored two goals in five Europa League games for the Gers.
