Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura has told Sky Sports that his teammate and Brazilian compatriot Emerson Royal has a great future.

Lucas is pleased to be playing with Emerson Royal at Tottenham and has spoken highly of him.

The Brazil international winger has said that Emerson has a great future ahead of him.

Lucas told Sky Sports about Emerson Royal: “I think we are building a good friendship. He is a very good guy, young player.

“He is doing very well and he has a great future. It’s good to have a Brazilian in my side because we understand each other.”

How is Emerson Royal doing at Tottenham Hotspur?

Tottenham signed Emerson from Barcelona in the summer of 2021.

BBC Sport reported at the time that Tottenham paid €30 million (£25.23 million) to Barcelona for the 22-year-old right-back.

It has not been a great start for Emerson at Spurs, but there have been some very positive signs indeed.

The Tottenham no. 12 has made 12 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season.

Emerson has given one assist in those games.

The former Barcelona youngster has played thrice in the Europa Conference League and twice in the Carabao Cup.

Emerson has started to do well under Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte.

In our opinion, Emerson has a bright future ahead of him and will be a success at Tottenham.

The right wing-back role suits the Brazilian, who is only 22 and can develop in the coming years.
