Aaron Lennon has Tottenham Hotspur supporters singing his praises on Twitter.

The former Tottenham winger scored for Burnley in their 3-1 defeat away to Manchester United on Thursday night.

Lennon, who spent 10 years on Spurs’ books until 2015, embarked on a trademark run which had United defenders back-pedalling.

The 34-year-old then found the corner of the net from outside the box, beyond a helpless David de Gea in the hosts’ goal.

This was the first time Lennon had found the net in a Premier League game since way back in 2018.

Here’s how Tottenham supporters reacted to the goal on Twitter:

Lovely to see

It’s great to see Lennon triumph, even if his side lost on the night.

The former England international has struggled on and off the field quite a lot in recent years, after going public with mental health issues.

And although the former Tottenham attacker was on the losing side at Old Trafford, it’s still lovely to see him thrive on an individual level.

Lennon left the Lilywhites in 2015 after a decade on their books, following a move from Leeds United originally.

He joined Everton after Spurs but only managed 51 Premier League games during a three-year spell at Goodison Park, netting five times in that competition.

After that, he joined the Clarets for the first of two spells at Turf Moor, with a mixed year in Turkey separating both stints.

Lennon netted 30 goals during his time at Tottenham.
