Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been inundated with enquires from Premier League rivals for Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to 90min.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles rumour

90min have reported that Arsenal manager Arteta has told Maitland-Niles that he can leave if he wants to.

A number of clubs in the Premier League have enquired about the 24-year-old, who can play in midfield or at full-back.

However, according to the report, Ainsley Maitland-Niles prefers a move to AS Roma, now managed by Jose Mourinho.

The England international has agreed personal terms with Roma, who are now close to finalising a loan deal with Arsenal.

In our opinion, leaving Arsenal for Roma would be a good move for Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Yes, the Premier League is an attractive league, but playing in Italy and getting out of his comfort zone would make Maitland-Niles a better and more mature player.

The 24-year-old, described as “brilliant” by Arsenal legend David Seaman on the Seaman Says Podcast in September 2021, is struggling for playing time at Arsenal at the moment.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has made two starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

In our view, playing in Italy even for a few months would make the Arsenal midfielder a better football and help him see things under a different light.
