Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Liverpool are interested in a transfer for Arnaut Danjuma.
Voetbal International reported in October that Liverpool were keen on the Villarreal attacker.
The five-time Netherlands international has netted nine goals and set up three from 18 games in all competitions this season.
And according to Romano, the Reds ‘really love’ the 24-year-old livewire but claimed that a transfer to Anfield is ‘impossible’ in January.
He told his Here We Go podcast: “A player they really love is Danjuma, the winger of Villarreal. He’s very good, but he’s not leaving in January. I’m told it’s impossible, that the player is going to stay until the end of the season.”
Replacement
Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have been brilliant servants for Liverpool.
In fact, that might actually be an understatement, considering the two have played massive roles in helping the Reds to Champions League and Premier League glory.
But they’re both turning 30 inside the first six months of 2020 and the Merseysiders desperately need to identify long-term replacements.
Pace is such a major factor in how dangerous both players are and the sad truth is that Mane and Salah will decline over the coming years.
Danjuma has a lot of Mane-like qualities in particular and if Romano is right about Liverpool ‘loving’ him, you can certainly see why.
