According to Eurosport, Arsenal have accepted the fact that they likely won’t be able to get rid of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang until the summer, unless a loan deal can be reached in January.

It’s no secret that Aubameyang’s situation is up in the air at Arsenal. He’s been frozen out of the squad and it looks as though he doesn’t have much of a future in north London.

However, despite the fact Eurosport claim that sources at Arsenal don’t expect him to return anytime soon, it doesn’t seem as though he’ll be departing on a permanent basis in January.

Aubameyang’s massive wages are undoubtedly an issue. He’s on a reported £350,000-a-week, and, as you can imagine, it’s going to be hard to find a club who are willing to pay him anything close to that – especially after his recent poor run of form.

Arsenal are resigned to the fact that they will struggle to sell him in January, and while a loan is possible, that depends on whether or not they can find a suitor.

Aubameyang is open to a move away from the club. Eurosport claim that he believes a move to Italy could be ideal, but he may well have to wait until the summer before he secures that switch.

It remains to be seen what happens with Aubameyang, but it would certainly appear as though the former Gunners captain’s career at Arsenal may be over.
