Borussia Monchengladbach have made playmaker Hannes Wolf surplus to requirements – and Celtic could bring him to Glasgow.
German newspaper Bild report that Gladbach are keen to move a number of players out in January having struggled this season.
Former Tottenham talent Keanan Bennetts and Austrian ace Wolf are tow names that can go, along with Marcus Thuram.
The report claims three clubs are now battling for Wolf; Celtic, Rapid Vienna and Trabzonspor.
It’s stated that Wolf ‘no longer has any prospects’ at Gladbach, even if Ralf Rangnick was a huge fan.
Gladbach paid €8million (£6.75million) to sign Wolf from RB Leipzig earlier this year. Wolf notched four goals and two assists in 43 games on loan at Gladbach last season.
That was enough to force a permanent move, but Wolf has only played seven times in the Bundesliga this season.
That means Wolf can go – and Celtic may be ready to step in with a deal.
David Turnbull’s injury means Celtic are down an attacking midfielder, with Wolf a potential replacement on loan.
Wolf still has bags of talent and previously starred at Red Bull Salzburg.
Celtic face competition for Wolf, but it sounds like the door for a January move is very much open.
