Since it arrived on our screens in 2011, Death in Paradise has proven to be ever-popular on the BBC, offering a much-needed bit of sunny escapism in the dark winter months.

Amazingly in all of the time that Death in Paradise has been running, it has never had a festive special, until now.

The new episode will see a number of new and familiar faces return but just who is set to join Ralf Little and the gang in the cast of the 2021 Death in Paradise Christmas Special?

Death in Paradise Christmas Special 2021 release date and plot

The 2021 Death in Paradise Christmas Special lands on BBC One at 7:30pm on Boxing Day.

Part of the show’s 10-year anniversary celebrations, the feature-length Christmas Special follows DI Neville Parker and the team as they investigate the death of a wealthy shipping magnate who is found dead at a Christmas party.

What makes the case even stranger is that a man thousands of miles away in London receives a Christmas card mysteriously linking him to the victim’s death.

To solve the puzzling case, Neville and the commissioner must turn to an old colleague who said goodbye to the Saint Marie Police Force several years ago.
