Speaking to Off The Ball, Mark Lawrenson has been discussing Caoimhin Kelleher and the physical changes he’s been noticing in the Irishman.
Kelleher is the talk of the town at the moment. He was the penalty shootout hero on Wednesday evening against Leicester, and he’s been receiving plenty of praise.
Lawrenson has noted the goalkeeper’s improvement, but he’s also noticed that the Irishman is filling out, growing taller and bulking up.
What’s Lawrenson said about Kelleher?
The pundit gave his view on the 23-year-old and the changes he’s noticed in him.
“He’s growing and growing. Not only in stature, when I go and do the games we do pieces just by the Kop, and we watch the goalkeepers warming up and everything. He seems to be getting taller and a little bit wider. He’s going to get a real chance, but the problem is that the lad ahead of him is arguably one of the best in the world,” Lawrenson said.

More to come
If there’s one position where you’ll benefit from continuing to grow, it’s between the sticks.
As a goalkeeper, height is incredibly valuable, as is strength and if Kelleher still has some scope to grow, he could get even better than he already is.
The 23-year-old has a lot to learn on the technical side of the game, but it sounds as though he’ll have no problems in matching the physical demands of being a Premier League goalkeeper.
