Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been chatting about Charlie Patino and the impression the 18-year-old has made

Patino made his debut for Arsenal this week in the Carabao Cup, and it’s fair to say he impressed.

He netted a goal and wowed fans against Sunderland, and Seaman says that Patino is a player he’s had on his radar for quite some time.

Indeed, Seaman claims that Patino is a player who has stood out to him during his coaching sessions with Arsenal’s U23s.

What’s been said about Patino?

Seaman was full of praise for the teenager.

“I must admit, when I’ve done the coaching with the U23s I’ve been watching him and he was pointed out to me rather early and just watching him I was like ‘woah, he has a real different look about him.’ He’s so calm with the ball at his feet no matter what is going on,” Seaman said.

The next big thing

It really does seem as though Patino may be the next big thing to come out of Arsenal.

Everything you hear about this young man is overwhelmingly positive, whether it’s Per Mertesacker praising him or the scout who discovered him claiming that he’s the best player to ever walk through the doors at Hale End.

Of course, he’s only 18 so we shouldn’t get too carried away by him, but it truly does seem as though he’s on track to be a star.
