Ben White has told talkSPORT that Mikel Arteta is unlike any manager he had played under before joining Arsenal, with the level of detail the Spaniard goes into one of his best traits.
Arteta oversaw White’s move to the Emirates Stadium this summer after paying Brighton & Hove Albion £50m for the centre-back. The England international has since become one of the key men in north London after forming a strong partnership with the Gunners backline.
White has started all but two of Arsenal’s Premier League fixtures so far this term. The 24-year-old had to miss losses to Chelsea and Manchester City after testing positive for covid.

Arteta has fielded no Arsenal player more often in the top-flight this season than White so far. Fellow summer signing Aaron Ramsdale has played the next-most with 1,350-minutes to his compatriot’s team-high 1,440. The only difference being White starting at Brentford.
Together with Gabriel Magalhaes, Arsenal have already kept eight clean sheets with White and Ramsdale featuring. The Gunners only recorded 12 shut outs all term during 2020/21.
White hails Arsenal manager Arteta as one of his best
White is clearly loving life at Arsenal under Arteta, and has hailed what the Spaniard is like as a manager. His attention to detail is one trait that standouts most to White and deems Arteta as one of his best bosses for his ability to treat each player individually.
“The detail the gaffer goes into is completely different to what I’ve come across before,” he said. “The way he demands you to do stuff and the way he says stuff and the detail he goes into is really important and it’s helping me massively.

“I’ve had a few managers and I’d say his man-management is the best I’ve been under. Every player is different and needs different things, and he definitely understands that. He’s a top manager and it’s showing – we’re getting the results now.”
White and Arteta will hope Arsenal continue to pick up results when the visit Norwich on Boxing Day. The Gunners took their first points of the season with a 1-0 win at home to the Canaries in August. It was also the first time White, Ramsdale and Gabriel started together.
