Tottenham Hotspur could yet loan out Steven Bergwijn in the January transfer window, the Athletic suggest.
Bergwijn to go?
Bergwijn has been linked with an exit from Tottenham for some weeks now, and it seems that Antonio Conte has a big decision to make.
Although nothing is set in stone, Bergwijn wants to play more – with the World Cup now set to start in under a year’s time.
And it could be that Tottenham send him out on loan to allow him to get more regular game time.
Bergwijn looked set to play a major part at Spurs this season when Nuno was in charge.
The £25 million man featured prominently over pre-season and in the early part of the campaign, but he has not started a game since Antonio Conte took charge.
No wing-back hope
There has been some suggestions that Bergwijn could even be moulded into a right-wing back in Conte’s system to help him get more game time.

But the Italian boss apparently doesn’t believe that this is an option for his wide-man.
Instead both player and manager only really see him as a forward player.
That could make his task of breaking into Tottenham’s team very difficult.
Conte has seemingly settled upon Lucas Moura, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son as his front three already, which means Bergwijn will have to significantly impress from the bench to break in.
