Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest in signing Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch – a player recently linked with Newcastle United.
On Sky Germany’s Transfer Show, reported Marc Behrenbeck stated that Grillistch is ‘very, very likely’ to leave Hoffenheim in 2022.
Fussball Transfers have relayed the information too, with Tottenham expressing their interest.
Jose Mourinho wants to take Grillitsch to Roma, but Behrenbeck claims Tottenham are now interested in a deal too.
Out of contract at the end of the season, Grillitsch could be a bargain for Tottenham on a free transfer.
Hoffenheim may even be willing to sell for a bargain fee in January, bringing in a small fee before Grillitsch leaves for nothing.
Newcastle also fancy Tottenham target Grillitsch
Tottenham certainly aren’t alone in the race to sign Grillitsch.
It’s not often that midfielders branded ‘extraordinary’ by Julian Nagelsmann become available for nothing or next to nothing.

The Sun claimed in November that Newcastle want to sign Grillitsch and think they can get him for just £4million.
Tottenham may have been alerted to that situation given that they have followed Grillitsch for a while.
Sky Sports reported way back in January 2019 that Grillitsch was on Tottenham’s wish list.
Almost three years on, the 26-year-old Austrian could finally be heading to North London to bolster Antonio Conte’s options.
