Former Chelsea winger Willian has spoken about the tough nature of working under current Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte.

Willian offers mixed view on life under Conte

Willian, now playing for Corinthians back in Brazil after a torrid time at Arsenal, has speaking to Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel.

The Brazilian wide man played 96 times under Conte at Chelsea, bagging 25 goals and 17 assists.

The pair won one league title together at Chelsea before Conte left in the summer of 2018.

Willian has now admitted that Conte is a ‘very good coach’ and playing under him was a ‘good experience’.

However, Willian did note that it wasn’t easy playing under Conte because he is ‘aggressive and demanding’, even screaming a lot in training.

“He’s a good coach but not easy to work together because of his way to speak with players” said Willian. “But it was a good experience, he’s a very good coach.”

Ferdinand pressed him for more on those comments, with Willian adding; “Aggressive, demanding, a lot of, in training, screaming all the time. But a part of that, he was a good coach for us because we won the Premier League.”

Conte making waves at Tottenham

No matter what anybody else says, Tottenham fans are absolutely loving life under Conte.

Conte was an incredible capture for Tottenham in November. A title winner in England and Italy, few really thought Conte would head to Tottenham.

Conte is now in place at Tottenham though, and the results have been largely positive.

In five Premier League games as Tottenham boss, Conte is yet to lose.

Whatever Conte is saying to this Tottenham squad, it appears to be working.

We all know Conte is a feisty character and certainly aggressive, but it seems to be suiting Tottenham right now – even if Willian had his issues with Conte’s style.
