Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confronted referee Paul Tierney straight after tonight’s draw at Tottenham Hotspur.

Son Heung-min rescued a point for Tottenham in a controversial Premier League clash in North London.

The Liverpool boss had Andy Robertson sent off in the final quarter, shortly after the Scottish left-back fired the Reds into a 2-1 lead.

The German cut a furious figure throughout the first half and particularly when Harry Kane escaped a red card for a studs-up challenge which caught Robertson.

Sky Sports cameras followed Klopp as he approached Tierney – who also denied Liverpool a strong penalty claim – afterwards.

And some fans of the Merseyside club believe that Klopp repeatedly told Tierney that he ‘never played football’ in reference to his officiating.

Poor performance

Being a referee is obviously a difficult job, especially at this level.

But you have to say, it was a poor performance from Tierney.

Everytime that the Liverpool boss got angry, he had every right to be because the Kane challenge and the non-penalty when Diogo Jota was bundled over the box should’ve gone in the visitors’ favour.

Klopp’s side remain second in the Premier League table but they missed the chance to move back to within a point of Manchester City at the summit.
