Andy Robertson has been speaking to Signathon about life at Liverpool, where he made a claim about Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott.

What’s the story?

Well, Robertson revealed that Salah has taken the 18-year-old wonderkid “under his wing” at Liverpool, as he begins his first-team career.

The £8m left-back said: “Mo has took Harvey Elliott under his wing. He’s been taking him for little private chats. He does that with me, but it probably means a bit more to Harvey than if he says something to me.”

That’s extremely pleasing to hear.

Elliott doesn’t seem like the nervous type, although it must’ve been daunting for him to walk into Jürgen Klopp’s squad alongside a number of world-class footballers.

So, for the best of the bunch to put his arm around him and guide him through life at Anfield must do wonders for the teenager’s confidence.

Aside from Salah, Klopp has a strong core of leaders such as Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Alisson, whose presence around the AXA Training Centre surely aids Elliott as well.

Mohamed Salah could make Harvey Elliott even better at Liverpool

Elliott learning from Salah is especially intriguing to us, as they are similar players who occupy the same areas of the pitch.

Both are left-footed, while the pair also enjoy starting out on the right flank where they opt to cut inside and make things happen.

Salah has now mastered the role, and has come charging out of the blocks this season with 22 goals in 23 games.

For Elliott to have someone like that showing him the ropes in the Premier League is huge.

Keep an eye on the 18-year-old, as there’s no reason why he can’t go on to hit Salah’s heights one day.
