Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has praised Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, as quoted on BBC Sport.
Azpilicueta has spoken highly of the consistency that Liverpool and Manchester City have shown this season.
The defender made the comments about Liverpool and City following Chelsea’s failure to win against Everton.
The Premier League game at Stamford Bridge in London on Thursday evening ended in a 1-1 draw.
Liverpool won 3-1 against Newcastle United at Anfield on Thursday evening, while Manchester City hammered Leeds United earlier in the week.
Chelsea are now third in the league table with 37 points from 17 matches, four points behind leaders and defending champions City and three points behind second-placed Liverpool.
Cesar Azpilicueta verdict on Liverpool and Manchester City
BBC Sport quotes Azpilicueta as saying about Liverpool and City: “We are not a defensive team, but of course we have to concede less goals if we want to get where we want to get.
“When you want to compete for a Premier League against these two teams who have shown how consistent they are, you cannot drop points. It makes it more difficult but there is still a long way.”

Chelsea should not panic
Azpilicueta is clearly disappointed at Chelsea’s result against Everton, but they are still only four points off the pace and can certainly catch City and Liverpool.
In our opinion, Chelsea need not worry too much, as there is a lot of football to be played this season.
Yes, things have not looked particularly great for Chelsea in recent weeks, but they still have a great squad.
And all teams go through tricky spells.
In our view, there is no need whatsoever for Chelsea fans to panic.
