According to Calciomercato, Juventus are interested in signing Everton defender Lucas Digne amid uncertainty over his future.

What’s the story?

Well, the £119,000-a-week Everton man and Rafa Benitez haven’t exactly seen eye to eye since the Spaniard arrived at Goodison Park.

Most recently, Benitez accused Digne of lying about his illness ahead of the 1-1 draw with Chelsea, which the Frenchman ruled himself out of.

Now, Juventus are monitoring the situation as they look to find a replacement for Alex Sandro at left-back, according to Calciomercato.

Digne has made 13 Premier League starts this season, although his relationship with Benitez has hit the rocks.

The ex-Barcelona man was left out of the 2-1 win over Arsenal and also the defeat to Crystal Palace, with Benitez telling the media that players need to put the team first.

Clearly, there is something going on between the pair.

Everton look to have already replaced Lucas Digne

Earlier today, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Everton are close to signing Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dynamo Kiev in a deal worth £23m.

The 21-cap Ukraine international is a left-back, and given the size of his transfer fee, you’d expect him to come straight into the starting XI.

In that respect, Juventus may find it simple to sign Digne, as it seems Benitez has no interest in letting him back into the team.

It’s a shame, as Digne is one of Everton’s best players, and that £23m could’ve been spent on strengthening another position.

For example, the right-back position is a weak spot for the Toffees, so a big-money addition in that department would’ve been a wise move.

Unfortunately, it seems as if Digne is finished at Goodison Park.
