According to Corriere di Puglia e Lucania, Tottenham are ready to enter into negotiations to sign Nikola Milenkovic, who West Ham also want.

What’s the story?

Well, the Italian news outlet believe Spurs are set to enter talks with Fiorentina over a deal for the 24-year-old.

Milenkovic has been a key man for the Italian outfit once again this term, making 14 appearances in Serie A as Fiorentina sit fifth in the table.

Corriere di Puglia e Lucania claim that Antonio Conte has followed the 32-cap Serbia international closely, and Fabio Paratici is now ready to start negotiating.

They add that Manchester United and Juventus are also tracking the colossal centre-back, who has been compared to Old Trafford hero Nemanja Vidic (Football London).

Tottenham face serious competition from West Ham

According to Calciomercato, West Ham are also interested in the Serbian, who they came close to signing back in the summer (Tutto Mercato Web).

With a world class coach like Conte at the helm, you could argue that Spurs are a more attractive destination for Milenkovic.

However, the competition from West Ham must be taken seriously, for a number of reasons.

Firstly, David Moyes has lost Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna to injury, and he’s already admitted that he will look to strengthen that department.

Furthermore, the Hammers can lure Milenkovic to east London with the promise of Europa League Round of 32 football.

Also, the prospect of Champions League football at the London Stadium next season is a real possibility, with the Irons sat fifth in the Premier League.

Keep an eye on this saga, as it seems Milenkovic could soon be playing his football in London.
