Tony Watt has been singing the praises of Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor.

Celtic dug very deep indeed to pick up a 2-1 victory away to Ross County on Wednesday night.

Despite having Carl Starfelt sent off on 79 minutes, when the score was 1-1, the Glasgow giants still left with three points after a last-gasp winner from Anthony Ralston.

The Hoops opened the scoring through Liel Abada on 21 minutes, courtesy of a Liam Scales assist.

But it was a defence-splitting pass from McGregor which led to Scales getting the ball and former Celtic player Tony Watt has given the Bhoys’ skipper his flowers on Twitter:

Massive victory

It’s impossible to understate what an enormous victory this was for Celtic.

With Rangers beating Livingston at Ibrox, their Old Firm rivals would’ve moved six points clear of Ange Postecoglou’s outfit if not for Ralston’s heroics.

Celtic host the light Blues at Parkhead in a couple of weeks and an away victory there could’ve led to Rangers going nine points clear ahead of the second half of the campaign, which could’ve been utterly detrimental.

But the deficit remains four points and based on the minerals that Postecoglou’s boys showed last night, they’re well up for this Scottish Premiership title challenge.
