Tottenham Hotspur supporters are fuming on Twitter after it was confirmed that tonight’s Premier League clash with Leicester City has been postponed.

The Lilywhites revealed this afternoon that due to an increase in positive coronavirus cases among the Leicester players, the contest will be rescheduled.

Tottenham had a covid outbreak of their own in recent weeks but Antonio Conte’s players were ready for tonight’s visit to the King Power Stadium nonetheless.

Supporters of the North London club haven’t seen their team play football since a 3-0 victory over Norwich City on December 5.

Here’s how some fans are reacting to this latest disappointment:

After tonight’s round of fixtures, Tottenham will have three games in hand over most teams in the Premier League.

In addition to two postponed outings due to covid, Spurs’ visit to Burnley was also called off due to snowy conditions in November.

Remember, the Lilywhites also failed to contest their Europa Conference League clash with Rennes, much to the disappointment of the French outfit who were already in England, but that encounter will not be rescheduled.

The Christmas period is already a massively hectic one in English football but it appears as if Conte’s players will also have a busy January.

These matches will obviously have to be played at some stage but, if Tottenham are out of Europe, that makes things drastically less complicated.

The good news at the moment is that Champions League qualification is seriously in their own hands.

The Londoners are four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal despite having played three less matches.
