Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are offering £10 million for Poland international Kacper Kozlowski as they look to outbid Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion, as reported by Sport Express.

Speaking last week, Pogon Szczencin president Jaroslaw Mroczek claimed that 18-year-old Kozlowski would be better off staying put and honing his talents in the relatively small Ekstraklasa pond.

But with around 20 clubs interested in the talented young midfielder, keeping the so-called ‘new Kevin de Bruyne’ for another season would be easier said than done.

“Do you think that if Kacper has agreed terms (with a new club) that will take him to another financial planet, then I will not agree and we will forcibly keep him?” Mroczek said.

“In that case, we will sit down and talk.

“I believe that it would be best for Kacper to stay with us for a longer period of time. However, I don’t rule out that the financial conditions offered by foreign clubs will not allow it.”

Is Kacper Kozlowski joining Liverpool instead of Brighton?

How much Kozlowski stands to earn in the Premier League remains to be seen.

But Pogon Szczencin, despite sitting second in the Ekstraklasa table, may struggle to turn down an eight-figure bid for a player who has just one full season of senior football under his belt.

It was claimed earlier this month that Brighton and Hove Albion had overtaken Liverpool in the race for Kozlowski.

Graham Potter’s Seagulls paid a combined £14.5 million to sign two more Polish starlets, Jakub Moder and Michal Karbownik, last year and appeared to be returning to a familiar hunting ground.

According to an update from Sport Express, however, Liverpool have now moved back into pole position.

Brighton are offering £8 million. £2 million less than Liverpool are willing to pay for a player who’s contributed three goals and four assists in 16 league games this season (Mail).

Kozlowski, who has been compared to Jude Bellingham, Harvey Elliott and Jamal Musiala by Polish legend Zbigniew Boniek, admitted a few weeks ago that he ‘dreams’ of playing for a European giant like Liverpool.

Poland team-mate Maciej Rybus, meanwhile, suggested that Kozlowski has ‘an agreement with a top club in England’.
