What’s the story with Phillips?
Leeds are having absolutely no luck with injuries at the moment.
The Whites are without the likes of Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford and Liam Cooper right now, but perhaps the biggest blow is the injury to Phillips.
Sadly for Leeds, Phillips’ injury is severe.
The midfielder picked up a hamstring problem against Brentford, and he’s had to have surgery on the issue.
The Athletic claim that the England international is facing up to two months on the sidelines with this issue, and, as you can imagine, Leeds fans are gutted.
Massive blow
This is the worst news Leeds could have received, and it’s come at the worst possible time.
Phillips is undoubtedly one of the Yorkshire club’s most important players, and two months without him at this point could leave the Whites in real trouble.
The busy festive period is upon us, so Phillips will be missing a lot of football, and unfortunately, Leeds’ upcoming fixtures aren’t too kind.
They face Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in their next three, and without Phillips, it’s hard to fancy Leeds winning any of those games.
