James Milner has posted on his Instagram story that Liverpool have been dealt a ‘tough’ Champions League last-16 draw against Inter Milan on Monday.

At the first time of asking, Liverpool were pitted with Austrian side Salzburg, before an error with the draw resulted in it being void and having to be re-done.

It was all to do with Manchester United’s pot and how they were drawn up against Paris Saint-Germain that resulted in UEFA having to call for a re-draw.

That’s when Liverpool fans went from travelling to Austria to going to Italy and back to the San Siro, after facing AC Milan during the group stages.

Milner shared his thoughts on the Inter showdown on his IG story, as he seemingly liked the idea of playing at the San Siro once more.

“Tough draw,” said Milner. “But looking forward to another trip to the San Siro.”

Even though Liverpool were handed a tougher draw the second time around, it’s still one they should breeze past.

Just like AC Milan, their arch-rivals shouldn’t be too much of an issue during the two legs and they should book their passage into the next round.

Jurgen Klopp’s men created history during the group stages because they won all six of their matches.

As a result of that, they became the first English side to reach that feat, which is pretty fitting given the six-time winners are the most successful British side in that competition.

Whilst the star-studded and billion-pound squads of Manchester City and PSG get talked about the most.

Liverpool will quietly feel that they can do the business and add a historic seventh title to their cabinet.
