Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been reviewing the Reds’ performance against AC Milan, reserving special praise for Neco Williams.

The midfielder started for the Reds against the Serie A giants, and his side put in a brilliant performance as they beat the Italian outfit.

However, while Oxlade-Chamberlain was fantastic, it was one of the Reds’ younger players who caught his eye.

Indeed, the Liverpool ace was full of praise for Neco Williams, labelling him as ‘outstanding’.

What’s been said about Williams?

Oxlade-Chamberlain gave Williams a glowing review when discussing the Reds’ performance at San Siro.

“Nat came back in for the first time in a while, he was brilliant. I thought Neco was outstanding at right-back. Young Tyler again was really solid, really good. Divock, it’s two in two for him now – he has been brilliant. I could go through the whole team. Kostas at left-back was solid.

“It was good to see Naby back as well and Joey G – it’s important for us moving forward, so it’s good for them to get some minutes.

“All in all, it was a good night’s work for us, for sure.”

Future is bright

It’s fair to say that Williams was brilliant against Milan, and the future certainly looks bright for Liverpool.

Williams, of course, wasn’t the only youngster who shone against Milan, with Tyler Morton also being one of the stars of the show.

At the age of 20, Williams seems to be improving at a remarkable rate, and while he has a huge task on his hands in usurping Trent Alexander-Arnold, don’t be surprised if he gives Klopp something to think about in the coming months.
