Tottenham Hotspur could bring Georginio Wijnaldum to North London in January – and Antonio Conte was desperate to add sign at Inter Milan.

Wijnaldum back to England?

Sky Sports report that Wijnaldum isn’t all that happy at Paris Saint-Germain right now. This comes just months after signing a £165,000-a-week deal.

Mauricio Pochettino isn’t using Wijnaldum as much as expected, with the Dutchman starting only seven league games this term.

Wijnaldum now fancies leaving PSG on loan in January, eyeing up a return to the Premier League.

Arsenal are noted as being interested, but Wijnaldum could yet find himself on the other side of North London…

Could Tottenham sign Wijnaldum?

90Min claim that Tottenham haven’t ruled out a move for Wijnaldum as the midfielder is offered to English clubs.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Oliver Skipp are Antonio Conte’s first-choice midfield pairing right now.

Yet with Harry Winks out of favour and Tanguy Ndombele not really trusted in a two, it would be little surprise to see Tottenham move for a new midfielder.

Wijnaldum ticks boxes in terms of being high-energy, dependable and having PremierL league experience.

Conte is a big fan

What adds weight to Tottenham’s potential interest in Wijnaldum is that Antonio Conte is a big fan.

FC Inter News reported earlier this year that Conte was ‘crazy’ about signing Wijnaldum from Liverpool.

It was thought that Inter would be bringing Wijnaldum to the San Siro, but PSG swooped in.

Given that Conte allegedly thought Wijnaldum was perfect for his system, it would make sense for Tottenham to make a cheeky loan move in January.
