Arsenal have made a move to sign Yuri Alberto from Internacional, Goal.com in Brazil claim.

Alberto to Arsenal?

They say that Arsenal have made an enquiry over signing the exciting striker from the Brazilian outfit.

Alberto has notched 19 goals in 54 games this season, which is a more than credible return for a player who has only just turned 20.

His talents have apparently alerted Arsenal’s scouts, with the club now sending feelers out as they bid to sign him.

Arsenal are thought to be on the hunt for a new number nine, as the futures of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are uncertain.

Aubameyang was left out of Arsenal’s team against Everton last night, after failing to impress in recent weeks.

Nketiah and Lacazette, meanwhile, both seem likely to move on in the summer.

A big gamble

Alberto, therefore, could be the man to step in – although there would surely have to be questions over whether he is ready to be the leading man for a club like Arsenal.

While he has shown real signs of promise, which has led to him being dubbed the ‘New Neymar’, he is still unproven in a top European league.

Arsenal are though targeting young players for the future, and he would fit in well with that policy.

The Gunners do also have a strong Brazilian contingent at the club already so he would fit in well.

And it will be interesting to see if the transfer move develops over the January window.
