Everton boss Rafael Benitez is under huge pressure ahead of tonight’s game with Arsenal – especially as Jose Mourinho is now being linked with his job.

Mourinho to Everton touted

Benitez has claimed just two points in the last eight games. A torrid 4-1 home defeat to Liverpool last week was the final straw for many.

Everton may already be looking for a replacement despite only appointing Benitez over the summer.

The Mirror now claim that Everton are interested in Roma boss Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho only took the Roma job in the summer after leaving Tottenham.

With eight wins and seven defeats in Serie A, it’s been a mixed time for Mourinho at Roma.

Everton’s interest seems bizarre, but Mourinho is allegedly interested in coming back to the Premier League.

Everton fans unhappy

Everton supporters are miffed enough as it is, but the Mourinho rumours have only added to the disquiet.

Fans took to Twitter to suggest that Mourinho is ‘past it’ and no better than Benitez.

Other Everton fans called the Mourinho rumours ‘pretty horrific’ and ‘absolutely terrifying’.

Farhad Moshiri faces a major battle getting fans back on side, and it sounds like landing Mourinho won’t do it.
