Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching what Harry Kane did in the 19th minute of last night’s 2-0 win over Brentford.
What’s the story?
Well, Kane unfortunately failed to find the back of the net yesterday, meaning he still has just one Premier League goal this season.
However, the 28-year-old got fans off their seats in the 19th minute when playing a simply phenomenal pass out to Emerson Royal.
Under pressure from Christian Nørgaard, Kane received a drilled pass from Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, with his first touch causing the ball to bounce up.
However, the Spurs No.10 adjusted superbly to cut across the ball and fizz a perfectly weighted pass out to the right flank, where Emerson Royal awaited.
Kane also played a wonderful pass out to Sergio Reguilon in the second half, which put the Spaniard through on goal where he squared for Heung-min Son to tap in.
Harry Kane is invaluable to Tottenham
Even when he isn’t scoring goals, passes like the ones to Emerson Royal and Reguilon show how important Kane can still be.
Like Wayne Rooney, he will probably end up finishing his career in the centre of midfield, such is his exquisite range of passing.
It’s no wonder Kane was named Playmaker of the Season last term, following his 14 Premier League assists in 35 appearances.
Should he continue to link the play as well as this and Spurs win games, nobody will care about his lack of goals.
