Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has expressed his delight at seeing Tom Rogic return to the side.

The attacking midfielder helped the Hoops pick up a 1-0 win over Hearts last night at Celtic Park.

Rogic, 28, has been out over recent weeks with a hamstring injury but got an unplanned 90 minutes under his belt against Robbie Neilson’s side.

The Australian international is now available for selection ahead of the hectic festive schedule ahead.

Celtic boss Postecoglou pleased to see Rogic back

Speaking after the victory over Hearts yesterday, Postecoglou praised his fellow countryman, as per the club’s official website

“Tommy was great. With him and Carl (Starfelt) coming back in, they’ve missed a lot of football and they fitted back in really well.

“The plan wasn’t for Tommy to play 90 minutes but with everything that happened – we obviously got some injuries, so he had to stay out there and it was great to see him play.”

Celtic had to dig deep

Celtic had to dig deep for the win and it may have come at a cost with Jota, Anthony Ralston and Sean Welsh all going off injured. Carl Starfelt was also seen limping near the end.

Kyogo Furuhashi caught the eye once again and scored his 14th goal in all competitions in the first-half which was enough for the win in the end, even if it did have a hint of offside about it.

Postecoglou will be pleased to have picked up another win and that makes it nine games unbeaten in the league.

The gap to Rangers at the top has closed to four points and the Old Firm Derby on 2nd January already has mouths watering in Glasgow.

Celtic have eight games to get through before then though and have been boosted by the return of Rogic.
