According to BILD, Amadou Haidara is a top target for Ralf Rangnick and Manchester United, with Newcastle also interested in the RB Leipzig man.

What’s the story?

Well, BILD believe Rangnick should find it quite simple to bring the 24-cap Mali international to Old Trafford.

The German outlet claim that Rangnick’s excellent relationship with RB Leipzig should make it easy to complete a deal.

BILD add that Haidara – who Rangnick actually signed for RB Leipzig in a €19m (£16m) deal – dreams of a move to Manchester United.

The 23-year-old has a €40m (£34m) release clause, which should make negotiations run even more smoothly for the Red Devils as they won’t need to negotiate with the Bundesliga side.

Interestingly, it was also BILD who revealed that Newcastle are interested in Haidara, and have had a long running interest in the midfielder.

Rangnick’s arrival at Manchester United is certainly not good news for Newcastle and their hopes of signing Haidara.

It now seems as if Eddie Howe and the Magpies have no chance of landing the highly-rated midfielder likened to Liverpool’s Naby Keita.

There are simply too many things in Manchester United’s favour.

As aforesaid, Haidara wants a move to Old Trafford, Rangnick has already signed him once, and the German also has great connections at the Bundesliga club.

How are Newcastle, languishing 20th in the Premier League without a win, supposed to compete with that?

Even if Amanda Staveley throws a huge salary at Haidara, we still can’t see that being enough to turn the tide in Newcastle’s favour.

If the RB Leipzig No.8 ends up anywhere other than Manchester United, we’ll be extremely surprised.
