You may know Eminem as one of the biggest rappers of all time. But, before he rose to prominence, Slim Shady featured as an extra in Korn’s music video for the song ‘Got The Life’.

The old video has resurfaced on social media and Eminen’s fans are surprised to see the rapper’s rare appearance. Although he’s only seen for a little while, he is said to have had an impact on the guitarist of the band.

Eminem was an extra in ‘Got The Life’ MV

Korn released ‘Got The Life’ in November 1998. It was in 1999 that Eminem achieved mainstream popularity with ‘The Slim Shady LP’.

Korn’s classic features many faces and you may have to look closely to spot Eminem, who is seen among the audience in the song.

Considering the fame the rapper has achieved over the years, watching him feature as an extra in someone else’s music video sure is a surprising sight.

However, there’s more to Eminem appearing in Korn’s song as he was there for a reason.

Rapper impressed Korn’s guitarist

Korn’s guitarist James (Munky) Shaffer later recalled in an interview that Eminem had managed to make an impression on him during his short appearance in their song.

It wasn’t because of his feature, but it was the rapper’s effort to present his demo to the band members that caught the guitarist’s eye.

Munky recalled, “There were some extras on the set of our video ‘Got the Life.’ Some kid came up to me and gave me his demo.”

“I was really drunk and I was like [out of it]. He’s like, ‘Hey, check it out, I’m a rapper.’ I’m like, ‘I’m just a guitar player.’ It turned out that kid that was on our video was Eminem. He was an extra in that video. I vaguely remember that happening,” he added.

Fans react to seeing the musician in classic video

Fans of Eminem are amused to see their favorite rapper in an old hit song, that too as an extra.

One tweeted, “I’ve probably seen this video over a thousand times but I’m just now realizing that Tito Ortiz and Eminem are in the Korn Got the Life video.”

Another added, “I’ll always laugh at Eminem popping up in Korn’s “Got the Life” video.”

Adding to the above tweets one joked, “I’m pretty sure that’s also Zuckerberg”
