Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Sky Sports revealed that Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita may only miss two games.

What’s the story?

Well, with the Africa Cup of Nations on the horizon, Liverpool are set to be without three of their most important players.

Salah will jet off with Egypt, while Mane teams up with Senegal and Keita links up with Guinea.

FIFA regulations state that clubs must release players partaking in the tournament on December 27th, which would see the trio miss crucial games against Leicester and Chelsea in addition to clashes with Brentford and Crystal Palace.

However, Sky Sports believe there is a strong possibility that Liverpool will be able to release their African players at a later date, meaning they’ll be available to face Leicester and Chelsea.

Now, that is huge news for the Reds, as far as the title race is concerned.

Well, if Liverpool are allowed to release Salah, Mane and Keita at a later date, then they will in fact only miss two games.

The fact Sky Sports believe that’s a strong possibility should come as a massive boost for Jürgen Klopp.

AFCON ends on February 6th, so even if one of Liverpool’s African players goes all the way to the final, they could still feature against Leicester on the 9th.
