Newcastle United fans think Ryan Fraser may not have been Steve Bruce’s biggest fan after his latest interview.
What’s the story?
Fraser spoke with Newcastle’s official website yesterday and while he was very careful with his wording, there was a few telling comments in the interview.
He said: “The place is a lot happier, I don’t want to say anything about the previous staff, it’s disrespectful, I think everyone is seeing changes.
“No days off with this gaffer. He’s got us planning, out on the pitch again the day after Arsenal.”
And those comments have certainly piqued the interest of Magpies fans on Twitter.
Criticism of Bruce
Bruce, of course, was criticised for giving Newcastle’s players too much time off from supporters.
It was only in October, where Newcastle’s players were said to have been stunned that Bruce went on holiday during the international break (Daily Mail).
Bruce always vehemently defended his corner in public, saying that he was working Newcastle’s players hard enough.
However, there does seem to have been an increase in the intensity that they are having to perform at in training since Eddie Howe took over.
Unfortunately for Newcastle, the results of the hard-work are yet to pay off on the pitch.
Howe has now taken charge of two Newcastle games, but is still looking for his first win.
The Magpies’ display against Arsenal at the weekend showed the scale of the task awaiting Howe too.
Newcastle’s next game comes later this evening, when they are due to face Norwich City at St. James’ Park.
