Some Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to give their take on Marcelo Bielsa playing Kalvin Phillips out of position.

Phillips is a central midfielder, but Leeds head coach Bielsa deployed him in central defence against Brighton and Hove Albion.

And then took him off at half time.

The Premier League game between Brighton and Leeds at the weekend ended in a goalless draw.

Bielsa, who earns £8 million per year (The Sun), also deployed Phillips in defence against Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.

As you can see from the tweets below, Leeds fans are confused by Bielsa’s decision regarding Phillips.

Well, some of them anyway.

They want Bielsa to play Phillips in midfield, and we agree.

Now, we have seen the 25-year-old play in central defence for Leeds before.

However, there is no need to play Phillips out of position now.

Bielsa has enough cover in defence.

In our opinion, the Leeds head coach should use the 25-year-old in central midfield against Crystal Palace at Elland Road on Tuesday evening.

Leeds are in real trouble of getting relegated from the Premier League.
