A reported Liverpool target has scored an unbelievable hat-trick.

Well, it wasn’t unbelievable because of how good it was, more the circumstances surrounding it.

Darwin Nunez has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months.

And on Saturday, he scored three goals for Benfica in their 7-0 win away to Belenenses.

Thing is, the hosts started the game with only nine players due to a covid outbreak.

The game still went ahead, but it was abandoned at half-time, though the Liverpool-linked hitman still had a treble under his belt.

According to The Daily Star, the Anfield club are paying close attention to what the £70 million-rated Uruguayan has been doing up front.

The 22-year-old now has 11 goals in 16 games across all competitions this season.

You can see why Jurgen Klopp is reportedly a fan and really, you have to wonder how many goals he would’ve scored on Saturday.

Remember, it was only a 45-minute match because of the abandonement.

Still, the South American won’t take any great pride in this hat-trick, due to the context.
